Along with the scheduled final budget hearing, the Chelan City Council will also be considering several end of the year ordinances, resolutions and agreements at tonight’s council meeting.
According to City Administrator, Paul Schmidt, the first on that list is the property tax levy ordinance.
The council will also be looking at renewing the agreement for Hearing Examiner Services, an issue that comes up every two years.
The City currently contracts with Andrew Kottkamp, who serves as Hearing Examiner for seven counties, 12 cities and the Chelan-Douglas Health District. Under the current contract, which expires at the end of this year, The City of Chelan pays a service fee of $525 to Kottkamp per regular hearing.
Schmidt tells KOZI that Kottkamp fills a vital need that reduces the city officials’ liability exposure and offers more consistent and legally sustainable decisions.
Tonight’s chelan council meeting and final budget public hearing will be held at 6PM in council chambers at City Hall. Be sure to tune into KOZI tomorrow morning for details on that meeting."CLICK HERE" for Audio
