A recent theft of non-energized wire from a pole left more than 1,000 Grant Count PUD customers in the Coulee city area in the dark for over an hour.
The stealing of copper electrical wires is not an uncommon occurrence during this time of financial woes.
We contacted Chelan County PUD Public Information Officer Kimberlee Craig to find out more.
Officer Craig went on to tell us that this can be dangerous for everyone.
What can do you if you see something suspicious?
PUD encourages customer to report signs of theft like: missing sections of power lines, dangling power lines, missing or misaligned power covers, or cut fences and locks.
