A tragic head on automobile accident yesterday afternoon has claimed the lives of three area residents and left a fourth with serious injuries.
According to the Washington State Patrol Report the accident occurred just North of Chelan on Highway 97A near Willmorth Drive. Two of the victims have been identified as 38 year old Angelica Medina Aguilar and 4 year old Guadalupe Medina Aguilar. A third unidentified passenger in the first vehicle was also declared dead at the scene; however, family notification has not yet been made.
The driver of the second car was identified as 39 year old Nicole Province of Chelan. She was seriously injured and transported to Chelan Community Hospital for treatment. Nicole is a graduate of Chelan High School and works for Pateros School District.
According to the Washington State Patrol Report, the 1990 Toyota Camry being driven by Angelica Medina Aguilar crossed the centerline striking the 2002 Ford Focus being driven by Nicole Province. None of the three victims that lost their lives were wearing seatbelts.
