On Monday, October 1st the ChelanCounty PUD Commissioners voted again on renewing the lease of the building the Chelan Chamber of Commerce currently rents.
The Commissioners had previously had a 2 to 2 deadlock vote on the matter with Commissioner Randy Smith absent from the meeting. When Commissioner Smith returned they re-voted and with a 3 to 2 vote it was passed.
Mike Steele, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, was pleased to announce the good news.
Though it was not allowed to be included in the consideration of the lease renewal the Chamber of Commerce had invested around $200,000 to enhancing the visitor space.
Mike Steele, went on to discuss the plans the PUD has for that building after the 5 years of their lease.
For the next five years Chelan visitors will have a very visible, centrally located Chamber of Commerce to visit.
