Chelan County Commissioners will tour the Dill Water Project along the Entiat River to view the controversial woody debris venture aimed at fish rehabilitation.
Commissioner Doug England says they look forward to taking a closer look at this nearly $350,000 project.
The Dill Water Engineered log jam project, located on the EntiatRiver, aims to improve habitat complexity by construction of several log jams in the main channel and along the banks. This project is located in the “Stillwater Reach” which will be intensively monitored for fish response to restoration activities. The upper sub-basin is a critical spawning area for Federally Endangered spring Chinook, Threatened Upper Columbia River steelhead, and Threatened bull trout.
Dill Water Project, which started June 1, 2012, is slated to complete on December 31, 2012.
