Pateros Moves On With Shoreline Program 8/30/2012
The Pateros City Council is celebrating finishing work on their Shoreline Master Program Update and submitting the findings to the Washington State Department of Ecology.
Pateros Mayor Gail Howe says they are glad to have the project behind them.
Washington State Shoreline Master Programs apply the Shoreline Management Act at the community level. The Act was adopted by the public in 1972 to help manage shorelines.
Conditional use, substantial development permits, and variances are required for some shoreline uses. The permits are administered by local governments with the Department of Ecology’s review and approval.
A copy of the Pateros update is available for review on the Department of Ecology’s website, or by visiting our website: where you will find a link.
