The Chelan County Sheriffs helicopter assisted in rescuing a 71 year old Entiat woman yesterday who was injured when she was thrown from a horse.
Rivercom dispatch received a 911 cellular call at 4:30 yesterday afternoon from an employee of the Icicle Outfitters horseback guiding service. The subject advised that one of their customers had been thrown from a horse and had probably broken her shoulder. The patient, Linda Olin, a 71 year old female was reported to be in and out of consciousness since the fall.
The accident occurred around 2:30pm with the reporting party having to ride by horseback for two hours to get cellular service. The group was camped on the edge of Mad Lake in the Entiat Ranger District. A Sheriff’s Office helicopter crew flew to the Fish Lake airstrip to pick up a medic from Cascade Ambulance and then proceeded to the scene.
A MedStar air ambulance helicopter was dispatched out of Moses Lakeand followed the Sheriff’s office aircraft to Mad Lake. Mrs. Olin was conscious upon arrival and was thought to have a broken left arm.. She was able to walk to the MedStar helicopter and was transported toCentral Washington Hospital.
Her condition is unknown.
