The Board of Physical Therapy and the state Department of Health has suspended the license of physical therapy assistant Andrew Paco Lopez of Wenatchee for five years following his conviction of child assault.
The Board issued an immediate suspension of Lopez’s license in November 2011 when he was charged in criminal court. Lopez didn’t respond to board’s charges against his license; this suspension concludes that legal proceeding.
In April Lopez was convicted of third-degree child assault in Douglas County Superior Court. The victim was Lopez’s infant son who was about nine weeks old. The child suffered multiple fractured ribs and brain trauma, resulting in bleeding on the brain.
The Board of Physical Therapy uses standards of practice to license and discipline physical therapists and physical therapy assistants.
