Bridgeport Boy Scout, Nathan Brown, approached the Bridgeport City Council regarding the possibility to construct a fish cleaning station at the Bridgeport Marina Park for his Eagle Scout Project.
Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program. Since its introduction in more than 100 years ago, the Eagle Scout Rank has been earned by more than 2 million young men. Project requirements include earning 21 merit badges and demonstrating the Boy Scout Oath and law, service and leadership. Part of the requirement includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads and manages.
In the case with Nathan’s proposed fish cleaning station, Bridgeport Mayor, Marilyn Lynn told KOZI that although the council has accepted the project with open arms, but is proving to be more of a hassle than Nathan had anticipated.
Bridgeport City Council will continue to work with Nathan on his project and will discuss the process more at their council meeting scheduled for tomorrow night, starting at 7 PM.
