MansonParks and Recreation is nearing the end of their second season with an automated pay system for boater launching at MillBay, and so far the system is proving to be a success.

 

The Ven Tek machine was purchased to appease a request by the district’s auditor to come up with a system that required less handling of the money- and also offers round the clock service.

 

Parks Director, Wai Petersen told KOZI that he is pleased with the new system, that he calls ‘Vinny’, and adds that even with the automated system, some people still skip out on the payment to launch their boats.

 

Mill Bay Boat launch offers four lanes to launch boats and more than 120 boat and trailer parking sites. Launch and parking fees are $10/day with an additional single car parking fee of $5/day
