ChelanCounty Commissioners have set a date for a public hearing to discuss a proposed amendment to the recently adopted Noise Ordinance.
The resolution was approved in late April, taking effect May 16th and makes it unlawful to unreasonably create loud, frequent, repetitive or continuous noise that exceeds a reasonable person standard and will impose a fine of $250 or more.
The ordinance already comes with some exceptions that include regularly scheduled community events on government or school property and county permitted events on private land, link trolley bells, construction noise between 7Am and 10 PM and any activity for the preservation of public health, safety and welfare as well as agricultural activities.
But, according to CountyCommissioner, Doug England, after a few months with the law in effect, there have been requests for some minor changes.
The public hearing to discuss the proposed changes to the County wide Noise ordinance will take place at 10AM on Monday, August 27th in the Chelan County Commissioners Chambers in Wenatchee.
