A workshop will be held during tomorrow night’s Chelan City Council meeting as they work towards adoption of the 2012 Comprehensive Plan.
The City is updating the plan to be consistent with state, regional and countywide laws and policies, as required by WashingtonState’s Growth Management Act (GMA).
The Comprehensive Plan expresses a community’s vision of itself, the community it would like to become, its hopes and dreams and the philosophical groundwork for any planning activity. It is a key element in the land use planning process, and addresses growth issues for the next five years.
City Administrator, Jim Reinbold, says the plan can be amended annually.
Tomorrow’s Council meeting starts at 6PM in the council chambers on Johnson Ave- and as we normally do, we will have officials from the city in studio Friday morning to discuss the result of that meeting.
