The City of Entiat is waiting for approval from one last state agency before work can begin on the nearly $7 million restoration project to revitalize the city’s waterfront park.
The project, part of Chelan PUD’s 43-year license to operate Rocky Reach Dam, will close the park for the entire 2013 season.
Entiat Mayor, Keith Vradenburg, says most agencies have approved the plans- but the Department of Ecology is holding things up.
The new park will offer more campsites, group camping areas, RV sites with amenities, new boat launches, as well as new bathrooms, playgrounds, showers, swimming areas, picnic shelters and boat trailer parking. The parks nearly 6 thousand feet of shoreline will be completely restored and ready for use for the 2014 season.
