Although Chelan County Sheriff Detectives are releasing few details surrounding last week’s drive by shooting between Manson and Chelan, they are casting doubt that it was a random act.
Miguel Tapia was shot in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 10 while driving on State Route 150 between Manson and Chelan. He was shot once in the lower back after a vehicle pulled up beside him and an occupant fired several rounds into Tapia’s pickup.
Tapia has since been released from HarborviewMedicalCenter.
North County Sergeant, Rob Huddleston told KOZI that they are still gathering statements and evidence, but adds that there is a good probability it was not a random shooting.
Chelan County Sheriff Detectives are still looking for anyone with information on last week’s shooting to come forward- offering a possible description of a vehicle reported to be at the scene of the crime as a light colored four door Toyota or Honda.
