Last week, Okanogan County Fire District 6 and the Town of Twisp agreed on a contract that will provide Twisp with fire protection, after nearly four months of negotiations.

 

The contract was approved at a special meeting held by the District 6 commissioners on June 29 and has the Town of Twisp paying a monthly fee of just more than $2 thousand.

 

Twisp Mayor, Soo Ing-Moody says the agreement essentially hands all responsibility over to District 6.

 

The town and district will meet again in October to review the contract, which is set to end on December 31, and can be renewed.
