Manson Fire District 5’s water rescue training turned into swift water training last night as crews battled 10-15 MPH winds at the Manson Marina.
Personnel from the fire department, EMS and the ChelanCounty Sheriff’s marine patrol were on hand to put their hours of classroom instruction into hands-on training as we head into the summer and the boating season.
In WashingtonState, an average of 25 children and teens drown every year. Most of them are swimming, boating or just playing in or near water.
Manson Fire Chief, Arnold Baker, says it is an important element that his department has access to water training right at their fingertips.
KOZI was on hand for last night’s water rescue training and will have those photos posted on our Facebook page and our website at kozi.com.
