Chelan-Douglas Health District Officials, along with officials from the Washington State Department of Health, hosted a public meeting yesterday to discuss the findings of a recent review of local cancer cases.
The review was spurred by local concern over a potentially high number of cancer cases associated with the MansonSchool District.
Barry King, the Administrator for Chelan-Douglas Health District, told us the crude rate, or annual average of cancer cases in Manson from 2000-2010 was 461 per 100,000 people- compared to 541 per 100,000 in the whole state.
