Chelan and Douglas County Health officials say whooping cough cases have reached epidemic proportions with 32 confirmed cases between the two counties.
And, according to Mary Small, director of community health and preparedness at the Chelan-Douglas Health District, a majority of the cases are in ChelanCounty.
Mary adds that the epidemic has been prompted by a combination of parents choosing not to vaccinate their children and the fact that vaccinations are wearing off.
The free booster clinic will be held this Saturday from 9am until 3 pm at the Columbia Valley Community Health Walk-In clinic in Wenatchee- and vaccinations will be given on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
