The cardiac monitors that were purchased with the help of the Lake Chelan Hospital Foundation through last year’s annual Giving Campaign have successfully resuscitated 8 patients within the district since their installation in mid February.
The Lake Chelan Community Hospital Foundation was organized in 1982, and actively manages donor contributions, bequests, memorials, donor advised funds, endowments and the Annual Giving Campaign- which generates funds to purchase necessary equipment each year.
EMS Director, Karl Johansson told KOZI in an interview last week that the monitors have been placed in all three local response vehicles and offers more capability than any other single piece of equipment in the ambulances.
Each monitor came with a $13,500 price tag- marking a true testament of community funds saving the lives of community members.
