The Chelan Friends of the Library is celebrating another large grant in their efforts to raise $160 thousand necessary to renovate the former MasonicTemple and allow the library to move into the building.

 

The grant was announced last week- and was awarded by the Icicle Fund, which was established in 1999 by Harriet Bullitt, who also owns KOZI Radio.  The foundation supports the work of organizations in protecting the environment, advancing the arts and promoting the natural and cultural history of our region.

 

Mary Sherer, Media Spokesman for the City of Chelan Library Planning Committee, told KOZI News that the funds will go a long way towards the library’s goal.

 

The Friends of the Library Committee is hoping to have the move completed by late summer, depending on funding and anyone interested in contributing to the renovation and expansion campaign can call Mary at 470-1067.
