The Manson School Board’s Facilities Committee was created last fall and charged with assisting the district in developing a long-range facilities plan by examining needs of the school district both right now and into the future.
Manson Superintendent, Matt Charlton, told KOZI News that the group met monthly, reviewed census data and projected school and community growth, and prioritized the list of identified needs into three categories: immediate, intermediate and longer term.
Some of the intermediate and long term goals include upgrading the shop, repairing old gym roof as well as the roof of the secondary building, replacing outdated kitchen equipment, and upgrading the secondary computer lab.
The facilities Committee is expected to give an update to the school board in August.
