The Bridgeport City Council heard some good news at their meeting last week regarding a state block grant the city submitted to help offset costs for an upcoming Waste water treatment upgrade.
The grant will fund $1 million towards the $5 million project.
Bridgeport Mayor, Marilyn Lynn, says that thanks to this grant, the city feels more secure in the funding for this major project.
Mayor Lynn adds that the project comes after the city was notified that they were at their maximum capacity for the current treatment system.
The project is scheduled to begin in 2013, and will likely take 4 to 5 years to complete.
