In order to increase its chances of receiving a grant from the Community Foundation for North Central Washington, MansonParks and Recreation withdrew a grant application, and resubmitted it with some revisions.
Manson Parks has been looking into options to fix a drainage problem at their Singleton Park for years, and applied for a community grant to help pay for the project. But after a recent meeting with members of the Community Foundation, Parks Director, Wai Petersen, told KOZI that the application has been re-submitted based on a professional engineers recommendation.
Parks Director, Wai Petersen, told KOZI that spring is when the drainage becomes an issue at the park- just as baseball, soccer and softball are getting underway.
Petersen does not expect to hear a decision on the grant funding until late summer.
