In late February, Sheriff Burnett announced the addition of a new member of the Law Enforcement Team with the purchase of a second K-9 unit “Axel”, who officially joined the force this month.

 

Last weekend, Axel, along with his handler, Deputy Layman, had the opportunity to prove that the K9 unit was a good investment for the department by tracking his first criminal in the ChelanFalls area.

 

Sergeant Huddleston tells KOZI news that the suspect ran from deputies and hid.

 

Axel is a 19-month old German shepherd from PierceCounty, and somehow, I doubt this will be his last time in the news.
