Live/Work In Chelan? You May Need A Pass 5/23/2012
In an effort to alleviate the large influx of visitors during the coming Memorial Day holiday weekend- the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office is blocking off many of the streets in the downtown Chelan area, and is offering residents free passes to drive around those barricades.
The barricading, which has turned into a yearly tradition dating back to the 80’s, will be going up this Friday in hopes to detour visitors from parking, camping, tailgating and causing havoc on the streets that those who live and work in Chelan need to use.
Sergeant Rob Huddleston says if you are entitled to pick up a parking pass- by all means, go get one.
Streets that will be barricaded include Nixon Ave, Allen Ave, Chelan Ave, Lake Street, Cedar Street and Markeson St.
