Chelan County PUD is jumping onto the geocaching bandwagon with a new program called D3- which will kick off this Sunday and continue through the summer.
Don’t be embarrassed if you don’t know what geocaching is- you aren’t alone. But, the 21st equivalent of high-tech hide and seek is gaining momentum worldwide.
The real world, outdoor treasure hunting game, which requires a GPS enabled device, requires participants to navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and find a geocache container hidden at that location.
Christina Deetering, a seasonal tour guide with Rocky Reach Dam, told KOZI listeners that the geocaching program is a joint project with Rocky Reach Dam, Chief Joseph Dam and Grand Coulee Dam.
