As Americans prepare to honor the nation’s fallen servicemen and women on Memorial Day, law-enforcement officers from ChelanCounty are rounding up reinforcements by way of extra deputies as well as a mobile jail, complete with jailers for their busiest weekend of the year.

 

ChelanCounty Sheriff’s Office is laying out plans for additional patrol from surrounding counties, finding them lodging and a place to gather for meals and meetings.

 

Sergeant Rob Huddleston, told KOZI that the Chelan senior center has offered their building for deputies to refuel as well as meet throughout the weekend.

 

In addition to the extra law enforcement, ChelanCounty Sheriff’s office is moving in a mobile jail as well as jailers to handle any necessary booking through the weekend.

 

Huddleston tells us that having the jailers available really keeps the weekend running smoothly.

 

Last year, 44 arrests were made, and about 150 citations were issued throughout ChelanCounty, over Memorial Day Weekend, county-wide- with a majority of those being in the north county jurisdiction.
