Residents of the MethowValley will soon see trucks and equipment working in the Third Creek area, northwest of Winthrop as contractors will likely begin hauling logs in the Cub Creek as early as the middle of this month.
The work is related to the Urchin Timber Sale, which was developed as a result of the 2012 Buck Forest and Fuels Environmental Assessment- designed to improve forest health and reduce hazardous fuels.
Vegetation Management Staff Officer for the Methow Valley Ranger District, Matt Castle, explains that several projects were developed as part of that Buck Environmental Assessment.
And he warns that the efforts don’t end with this timber sale work.
For more information about the Urchin Timber Sale, you are encouraged to call the Methow Valley Ranger District at 996-4000.
