Manson Fire District 5 is taking steps to plan for fighting fires before they even occur by visiting businesses downtown. The pre fire plans include mapping the layout of the buildings and marking water supply and utility lines.

 

Fire Chief Arnold Baker explains that fire officials visit businesses and document everything that would affect firefighters in case of a fire.

 

The prefire information is accessible to firefighters, allowing them the opportunity to know where they can attack a fire, where their resources are, and where to look for hazards.
