Chelan 7 Successful In Detector Campaign 4/25/2012
Chelan Fire & Rescue recently wrapped up a successful Install, Inspect & Protect Campaign throughout the Chelan community, fixing broken detectors, changing batteries, and installing new ones when necessary.

District 7 Fire Chief, Tim Lemon, says the crews went door to door during the month long campaign.

Every year in the United States, about 3,500 people die in home fires, and most of those deaths occur in homes that don’t have working smoke alarms.

Smoke alarms are critical to home safety because they alert us to fire in its early stages, and when we are most vulnerable—when we are asleep at night.
