The cause of a wind-driven fire near Winthrop Tuesday afternoon is still unknown. The flames came close enough to a home to damage the front porch, and threatened several other structures in a residential area.
The blaze burned about 25 acres, but an investigation is underway to determine the cause.
Okanogan County District 6 Division Chief, Keith Comstock, says the call came into his office Tuesday afternoon.
No one was hurt in the fire that officials say was likely human-caused, though no source has been officially determined yet.
