As a citizen advisory group continues to crunch numbers looking for a viable way to pay for two new fire stations along the south shore of Lake Chelan, Fire District 7 Commissioners gave the go-ahead last week for fire district officials to look into the idea of a temporary location.
Chief Tim Lemon told Kozi News that they are considering two locations suggested by members of the Citizens Advisory Committee.
The board will continue to work towards adding two new stations as well, with the Advisory Committee taking the lead.
The district owns a 5-acre parcel near the Lake Chelan Yacht Club on South Lakeshore Road and has a tentative agreement to acquire property near Pat and Mike’s.
The district currently operates three satellite stations in addition the main fire hall on Wapato Avenue in Chelan. The satellite stations are in UnionValley, ChelanFalls and near the ChelanAirport on Howards Flats.
