Over the next week Chelan PUD crews will move a section of transmission line to new poles where it enters the Union Valley Substation, just north of the city of Chelan. That work may cause some slight shifts in voltage, which may be noticed by customers during times of high electric demand.
Lights may dim slightly, or ovens may take a few minutes longer to reach temperature.
The voltage shifts may be noticeable to Chelan-area customers along Golf Course Drive, Crest Drive, Bogey Drive, Orchard View Drive and those living at the end ofUnion Valley Road.
PUD engineers do not expect any interruption in power. As at any time, if there is a power outage, customers are asked to call the PUD’s 24-hour outage line at 877-783-8123.
Moving the transmission line is expected to increase the overall reliability of electric service in the Chelan area and is being done as part of normal maintenance of the lines.
