ChelanCounty Assessor’s Office is hosting a meeting today at the ChelanSeniorCenter to provide an overview of the property tax exemption program that helps senior citizens and disabled persons reduce their payment of property taxes.

 

If you are a senior citizen or disabled, and your primary residence is in Washington, there are two programs that may help you. Your household income and your age or disability will determine your eligibility for both programs.

 

CountyAssessor, Deanna Walter, says today’s meeting will give community members the opportunity to speak with folks who know the programs inside and out.

 

Today’s meeting is the first of five stops the Assessors Office is making throughout Chelan County this month in a campaign to raise awareness for senior citizens and disabled persons.

 

The next stop will be Thursday, April 5th in Entiat, followed by visits to Wentachee, Leavenworth and Cashmere.
