After spending thousands of dollars on roof repairs at both the elementary and high schools, the BrewsterSchool District is now planning to replace them this summer after receiving a $100,000 emergency repair grant.
School Superintendent Eric Dreissen reported that at last weeks meeting the school board directed administration to gather roof replacement bids rather than continue to repair them.
The Washington State Schools Urgent Repair Grant Program provides up to $100,000 to address urgent health and safety facility repairs. Applications are scored based on the impact to health and safety, ability to pass levies, and ending fund balances.
The Brewster School Board meets the fourth Monday of each month, with the next meeting scheduled for Monday, April 23rd at 7 PM in the High School Library.
