Effective immediately, all youth aged 12 and under will be able ride Link Transit with no fare if they are accompanied by a fare-paying adult. The Link Transit Board of Directors voted to eliminate fares for all kids 12 and under at their board meeting on Tuesday.

 

Link Transit Marketing and Communications Coordinator, Eric West, says the board made the decision after noticing a decline in ridership of families with children following last summers fare increase.

 

Travel on Link Bus Routes is basically based on a two zone fare system. The greater Wenatchee area is one zone and the outlying areas of Douglas and ChelanCounty are separate zones. Adult bus fares range from $1.25 for single zone travel and to $2.50 for multiple zone trips. Monthly passes are available for $40 for single zone and $80 for two zone trips.

 

Unlimited, on and off, day passes are $3 for one zone and $6 for two zone travel.
