Chelan Fire and Rescue made quick work of a small grass fire yesterday afternoon that burned about 60 square feet of grass in the ChelanFalls area.

 

Downtown Chelan Station 71 and Chelan Falls Station 72 responded to the fire that was reported to Rivercom Dispatch shortly after 4 PM yesterday.

 

Lieutenant Chris Beckell with Chelan Fire & Rescue said the fire rekindled after the landowner thought he had thoroughly extinguished a burn pile.

 

Remember there are statewide burning regulations that must be adhered to. Burning restrictions vary greatly from area to area depending upon fuel conditions and the time of year.
