Chelan School Principal Receives Prestigious Award 3/6/2012
Washington Association of School Administrators has recognized Chelan High School Principal Barry DePaoli as a recipient of the 2012 Robert J. Handy Most Effective Administrator Award.
DePaoli accepted the the award yesterday at the WASA Small Schools Conference in Wenatchee. Two administrators for the large district category will be recognized later in the year.
A peer committee selects the winners from nominations that describe how each nominee is taking part in realizing the nine characteristics of high-performing schools/districts as defined by research from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
In accepting the award Mr. DePaoli said, ?I am also extremely thankful to the Lake Chelan School Board, Superintendent Robert Manahan, and the entire community for allowing me the privilege to serve as principal of Chelan High School over the past seven years. Together, we have built a positive culture based on mutual respect and strong relationships, which have been the cornerstones of our success. I gratefully accept the
Robert J. Handy award on behalf of all staff at Chelan High School.?
The Robert J. Handy Most Effective Administrator Awards seek to recognize outstanding public school administrators in Washington State
Three awards are presented each year, based on district-size categories, with a $10,000 award equally divided among the winners.. The award can be used for personal or professional growth and/or to support and disseminate information about a successful school or district program.
