Chelan Fire and Rescue is hosting a pancake feed tomorrow morning to raise funds for a team of local firefighters competing in the 2012 Seattle Stairclimb.
Chelan Fire & Rescue Lieutenant Pat Moore, says donations collected from tomorrows pancake feed should carry them down the homestretch of fundraising.
Lieutenant Moore said the friendly competition to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society attracts over 1000 firefighter from not only the United States but from across the globe. Moore say the climb up the second tallest building west of the Mississippi, ColumbiaCenter in downtown Seattle, is no walk in the park.
The 2011 the Stairclimb drew over 1500 firefighters from 281 fire departments and raised a record $930 thousand for blood cancer research.
The charge for tomorrows pancake feed is by donation and you can give as little or as much as you like. It all gets started at 8 am and they would like to wrap it all up by noon. Everyone is invited to come and a breakfast prepared by your local firefighters at the Chelan Fire Station on the corner of Wapato and Saunders. And oh yeah… don’t block the roll up doors, the boys are on duty and may need to respond an emergency.
