Chinese Student Exchange 2/29/2012
The MethowValleySchool District is on track to exchange students with a school in Beijing China next school year.
Superintendent Mark Wenzel visited a Chinese Government sponsored tour of schools in China last November and is now moving forward to jumping on board an exchange program.
Wenzel says Chinese has been offered as a foreign language in the district for the past two years, and adds that a partnership with a school in China will help set students up for success.
School board members gave their nod of approval during their February meeting, sealing a partnership after meeting with an official from a Chinese school.
Wenzel sees this as a win- win for students in his school as well as for the exchange students this program will bring to the MethowValley.
The MethowValleySchool District will meet again at 5:30 on Wednesday, March 14th in the elementary school library.
