When ChelanCounty PUD Commissioners met on Tuesday they heard good news for the early prediction of run-off in Lake Chelan for 2012.

 

Scott Buehn, Power Resource Engineer, says that will allow the PUD to keep a little more water in Lake Chelan this early spring, if current runoff forecasts come true.

 

Buehn explains how the PUD measures the snowpack at three different locations using a “snow pillow.”

 

Buehn says the PUD won’t make its official runoff estimate until April 1.

PUD officials will be on hand at a meeting to discuss lake levels hosted by the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce on Monday at Campbells Resort.
