Okanogan County Public Utilities District members are being offered the opportunity to invest in a solar project through Partnership for a Sustainable Methow, a local nonprofit organization.
The project is the third, and largest of its kind in the Methow area- the first was in 2010 with Okanogan County Electric Co-Op and the second was with the Town of Winthrop last June.
This solar project, slated to be installed on the TwispWorks building, is a WashingtonState program that allows communities to install solar electric systems on property owned by local government entities as part of an incentive to use renewable energy.
Project Manager, Ellen Lamiman says those who take advantage of the opportunity and invest in this project will benefit from a great return for the next eight years.
The investment opportunity is available to Okanogan County PUD members, and Ellen stresses that the number of investors is limited, and encourages those who are eligible to fill out an application.
The project is expected to be installed in April and to be operational by June 30th.
