Chelan CountySheriff’s Office sent out a warning the public yesterday to be prepared for a potential significant wind storm through the county that is expected to clear by late this morning.
The warning said extreme winds are likely with gusts up to 60-70 miles per hour – with sustained winds of 40 mph.
High winds can topple trees, potentially causing power outages and damage to lightweight structures and high profile vehicles.
ChelanCounty Sheriff Sergeant Kent Sisson says his department is trying to get the word out, encouraging everyone to take time to get prepared.
Non emergency reports can be made to RIVERCOM at 663-9911 – and power outages can be reported by calling Chelan CountyPUD at 1-877-783-8123.
