The Town of Winthrop is searching for a way to fund the much needed replacement of the barely working heaters in the Winthrop Auditorium- known to most as The Barn.

 

The Town of Winthrop owns the building that is mostly used for community gatherings and meetings from weddings and funerals to bazaars and blood drives.

 

The building is also designated as the emergency shelter for residents in the event of a disaster.

 

Winthrop Town Mayor, Dave Acheson says the council is looking at ways to fund the 10 to 12 thousand dollar project.

 

Mayor Acheson expects to broach the subject again in spring, hoping to come up with a solution by then.

 

The Town of Winthrop will meet again on Wednesday, March 7th at 7 PM at The Barn.
