US 97A (MP 202.39-80) 1/2 Mi. S. of Rocky Reach Dam Unstable Slope
Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., crews are installing construction signs, building a temporary shoulder widening and striping it. Equipment is also being staged behind concrete barrier and up on the slope.
In this $3.1 million project, Janod Inc. crews are scaling an unstable rock slope and installing netting, rock bolts and dowels along the slope 2 miles north of Wenatchee. The projects also constructs a temporary shoulder "shoofly" traffic lane (towards the train tracks). This allows cranes to access the slopes. Construction began Feb. 21, 2012 and should be complete by June.
