The Chelan City Council approved a bid award to construct the sewer line for the Waste Water Treatment Facility upgrade during their meeting last week.
City Administrator, Jim Reinbold says the sewer line is the second phase of a 4.9 million dollar project, and the bid is quite a bit lower than was expected.
The project is meant to expand the capacity of the Waste Water Treatment Plant out to the city’s 20-year planning horizon, and Public Works Director, Dwayne Van Epps says the second phase of this project will likely begin in Spring.
The City of Chelan Council will hold their next regular meeting at 6 PM on Thursday, February 23 in Council Chambers on Johnson Ave in Chelan.
