The US Department of Agriculture announced an accelerated forest restoration plan. As part of that strategy, $40 million has been allocated for 20 projects nationwide that will enhance forest health and restore watersheds, including two in eastern Washington.

 

Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands, Peter Goldmark says this announcement is just what the doctor ordered.

 

Considered a high priority project, the ColvilleNational Forest will receive funding for the first time of more than $900,000.
