The Pateros School Board met on Monday and received word that students will be serving as ambassadors at the state level for an upcoming LEAP conference.
LEAP stands for Latino Educational Achievement Project and was founded in 1998 to help improve academic achievement of Latino students in WashingtonState. The goal is for all students to graduate from high school with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for success in postsecondary education and in today’s technology-driven workplace.
Pateros Superintendent, Louis Davies, says they were pleasantly surprised to hear that the committee had chosen five students from Pateros.
Superintendent Davies adds that the board selected Design West out of Salt Lake CityUtah as their architect for a study and survey.
The Pateros School Board will meet again Monday, February 27th.
