Just more than a week after suffering serious buns in a campfire accident, Chelan High School Freshman, Clayton Kimsey, is gaining strength daily.
Clayton remains in serious condition at Harborview Medical center and is expected to have a lengthy stay as he undergoes surgeries and physical therapy.
A “Coins 4 Clayton” account is now active at Bank of America here in Chelan as well as Cashmere Valley Bank- and donation cans have been set up at Safeway and various businesses throughout town.
Clayton’s sister, Tia Kimsey, says the Chelan Community has been amazing to her family as the medical and travel costs are already beginning to mount.
And, Tia adds that Clayton has a long way to go, as most of his body was severely burned, but the family is starting to see signs of his fun-loving and playful attitude again.
Be sure to tune into KOZI tomorrow for an exclusive look at Clayton’s road to recovery, as the Kimsey family keeps us up to date on his progress."CLICK HERE" for Audio
