The Lake Chelan Habitat for Humanity board has given the go-ahead to build another house this spring.
Originally they were considering postponing the project as immediate needs were taking precedence.
Project Executive Director, Leroy Hall, says ideally the Lake Chelan Habitat for Humanity tries to build one home each year, and has matched 14 homes with families in the valley to date.
In addition to paying for all construction costs, families who are matched to homes are required to contribute at least 500 hours of work, primarily by assisting with the construction of their new home, but may also volunteer at the local habitat store. All proceeds from sales at the Habitat Store here in Chelan go directly to build affordable homes in the ChelanValley.
